This quantity is also defined as the integral over the incident hemisphere of the BRDF times the cosine of the angle between the surface normal and the incidence <DIRECTION> times the differential incident solid angle. It is a function of the <<REFLECTANCE_ZENITH_ANGLE_LOCAL>> and <<REFLECTANCE_AZIMUTH_LOCAL>> of the reflected <<RADIANCE>> and is spectral (a distribution function in <<WAVELENGTH>>); therefore the quantity is measured in terms of inverse <<WAVELENGTH>> bin size.

EDCS Attribute Code: 450

Definition:
The ratio, for a particular material <SURFACE>, of the flux density reflected into the hemisphere above this <SURFACE> to the flux density incident upon it from all <DIRECTION>s within this hemisphere. This quantity is also defined as the ratio A/B, where A is the integral (over the incident hemisphere) of the incident <<RADIANCE>> times the cosine of the angle between the surface normal and the incident <DIRECTION> times the <<DIRECTIONAL_HEMISPHERICAL_REFLECTIVITY>> times the unit solid incident angle and B is the same integral without the <<DIRECTIONAL_HEMISPHERICAL_REFLECTIVITY>>. This quantity may also be known as the "total" or "bi-hemispherical" reflectivity and is spectral (a distribution function in <<WAVELENGTH>>); therefore the quantity is measured in terms of inverse <<WAVELENGTH>> bin size.

4 CARRYING_CONTOUR EEC_HYPSGPRTRYLTY_CARRYING_CONTOUR A single <CONTOUR> representing two or more <CONTOUR>s; a carrying contour. A carrying contour is used to portray a <TERRAIN_SURFACE_REGION> of steep (near vertical) slope (for example: a <CLIFF>). IR [FACC, Annex B, HQC:19 and 21] [SDLG], [DCW]
5 CONNECTOR EEC_HYPSGPRTRYLTY_CONNECTOR An arbitrary connector in a <NETWORK> of <CONTOUR>s, created to establish a zone of <<TERRAIN_ELEVATION>>s as a <POLYGONAL_FACE>, and not used to define any data or irreconcilable source data <REGION>s. IR [FACC, Annex B, HQC:99] [SDLG], [DCW]

8 INDEX EEC_HYPSGPRTRYLTY_INDEX Every fourth or fifth <LINE>, depending on the contour interval, is an index contour. An index contour is accentuated by increasing its line weight. With few exceptions, index contours are continuous throughout a <MAP> even though the <CONTOUR>s may coalesce because of steep slopes. IR [FACC, Annex B, HQC:1] [SDLG], [DCW]

11 INTERM EEC_HYPSGPRTRYLTY_INTERM One of the three or four <LINE>s between adjacent <<<INDEX>>> contours, having about half the line weight of an <<<INDEX>>> contour; an intermediate contour. An intermediate contour is normally continuous throughout a <MAP>, but may be dropped or joined with an <<<INDEX>>> contour where the slope is steep and where there is insufficient space to show all of the intermediate <LINE>s. IR [FACC, Annex B, HQC:2] [SDLG], [DCW]

A supplementary contour is shown as a screened <LINE> so that it is distinguishable from <<<INDEX>>> and <<<INTERM>>> contours and not unduly prominent on a <MAP>. IR [FACC, Annex B, HQC:16] [SDLG], [DCW]
16 SUPP_APPROX EEC_HYPSGPRTRYLTY_SUPP_APPROX A <<<SUPP>>> contour, used in a <TERRAIN_SURFACE_REGION> where an accurate <CONTOUR> is not feasible, and depicted on a <MAP> with a dashed <LINE>; an approximate index contour or indefinite index contour. IR [FACC, Annex B, HQC:13] [SDLG], [DCW]
