Unit codes
- Describe how things are measured
- Based on the International Standard of Units (SI) which is largely metric
- Units cover measurements in a variety of fields
- Standard scale factors can be applied to any unit (e.g., milliseconds vs. femtoseconds)
- Used for numeric attributes
- Conversion functions provided for mapping between SI units and some other common units such as English measures
